The Earth League is proud to have served as a core partner of the first-ever Planetary Science Pavilion at COP30, held in Belém, Brazil, from November 10 to 21, 2025.
Mandated by the COP30 Presidency, the Planetary Science Pavilion was a flagship initiative designed to bring planetary science to the center of climate negotiations. The initiative was led by Earth League Co-Chair Prof. Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, and Earth League Fellow Prof. Carlos Nobre, Professor at the University of São Paulo.
The Pavilion sought to translate the science of planetary interconnectivity into empathy and action by bridging research, ancestral and Indigenous knowledge, and policy throughout COP30. It envisions a world where every scientific, political, and personal decision respects planetary boundaries and safeguards the well-being of all life. Through this space, the Planetary Science Pavilion partners worked to strengthen the connection between science and diplomacy, celebrate ancestral knowledge systems, and inspire collaboration toward a just, resilient, and 1.5°C-aligned future.
