On the 3rd of July 2019, the annual Earth League meeting took place at the
Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS) in Hamburg. Earth League
members, Earth Docs and invited guests gathered for a scientific symposium
entitled Towards a 1.5 °C world: Challenges and Solutions.
How can we realise the goals of the Paris Agreement? Led by this overarching question, participants discussed the status in research, technology and society in regard of a just transition towards a sustainable future for Humanity on a healthy Planet Earth. Talks and panel discussions covered aspects such as sustainable infrastructure, societal transformations towards sustainability, the Youth climate movement, and energy systems transformation.
